1. Pada CD yang disertakan pada kotak Wireless adapter ALFA AWUS036H memang disediakan driver yang bisa diinstall pada sistem operasi Linux, Mac, dan Windows, akan tetapi pada BackTrack sahabat tidak perlu melakukan installasi, karena wireless driver langsung bisa aktif. Jadi langkah pertama adalah colokan kabel USB Wireless adapter pada port USB dikomputer atau Laptop.

2. Setelah dicolok buka terminal dan ketik "lsusb" untuk mengetahui apakah wireless adapter sudah terdeteksi oleh komputer atau belum, jika sudah terdeteksi maka akan ada tulisan "Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0bda:8187 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187 Wireless Adapter".

3. Kemudian cek lagi apakah ada kartu jaringan baru yang terbentuk, disini kartu jaringan baru yang terbentuk adalah "wlan0"(mungkin akan berbeda pada komputer sahabat), kini wireless adapter kita sudah berfungsi.

4. Untuk melihat driver yang digunakan oleh wireless adapter ketik perintah "airmon-ng", disini wlan0menggunakanan driver RTL8187.

Sekarang wireless adapter kita sudah bisa gunakan.

Cara Memperbaiki Blank Screen Setelah Startx Pada BT

Blank Screen setelah mengetikan startx sering didapatkan oleh sobat yang baru menggunakan BackTrack, biasanya dikarenakan oleh hardware yang tidak support dan sering ditemukan pada pengguna BackTrack 5 R1 dan R2, berikut adalah cara untuk memperbaikinya, semoga membantu sahabat yang memiliki masalah dengan Blank Screen setelah startx.

1. Masukan DVD BackTrack lalu booting
2. Pada saat grub muncul tekan tombol TAB dan akan muncul tulisan seperti dibawah ini.

> /casper/vmlinuz file=/cdrom/preseed/custom.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.gz text splash vga=791--
3. Edit menjadi seperti tulisan dibawah

> /casper/vmlinuz file=/cdrom/preseed/custom.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.gz xforcevesa noapic noapci nosplash irqpoll --

4. Setelah selesai tekan ENTER dan BackTrack 5 siap digunakan..

Setting Modem ZTE Smart AC2726 di Ubuntu 10.10

Punya  Modem smartfren. tapi gak bisa digunakan di linux. tapi jangan kuatir berikut adalah trik cara Menggunakan modem USB smart ZTE AC2726 di sistem operasi Ubuntu. 10.10

  • Pada menu bagian atas, cari Application, Accessories, Terminal.
  • Ketika jendela Terminal muncul, ketikkan perintah berikut:
    • sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/99-zte-ac2726.rules
  • Lalu akan muncul jendela teks kosong, copy script berikut kedalam teks editor tersebut:
    • SUBSYSTEM==”usb”, SYSFS{idVendor}==”19d2″, SYSFS{idProduct}==”fff5″, RUN+=”/usr/sbin/usb_modeswitch –default-vendor 0x19d2
      –default-product 0xfff1 –message-content
      5553424312345678c00000008000069f030000000000000000000000000000″
  • Jika sudah, lalu klik save, kemudian close.
  • Buka kembali menu pada bagian atas, cari System, Preference, Network Connection.
  • Pilih tab mobile broadband, lalu klik Add.
  • Buat koneksi baru, silahkan pilih negara, Indonesia. Klik forward, lalu akan muncul beberapa pilihan internet provider, karena smart belum ada disana, jadi pilih secara manual, beri nama "smart". Jangan lupa pilih jenis EVDO pada jenis koneksi.
  • Selanjutnya, setting username dan password untuk modem:
    • Username : smart
    • Password : smart
  • Jangan lupa beri tanda centang pada connect automatically.

Jika proses diatas sudah selesai, sekarang kalian bisa mencolokkan modem smart kalian ke laptop atau komputer kalian. Hanya disini, proses menunggu sekitar 1 menit agar modem dapat bekerja. Tidak seperti di windows yang jika dicolok, modem akan langsung bekerja. Tanda modem smart telah berjalan adalah adanya tanda seperti signal network dibagian atas.

Perintah Dasar Pada Linux BT

Username root password toor > "default" user pada backtrack, saran ane setelah login langsung ganti password dengan command
root@bt:~# passwd
kemudian masukkan password baru

     Memperbaiki tampilan splash:

root@bt:~# fix-splash

     Memulai (Desktop GUI)

root@bt:~# startx

     networking

root@bt:~# /etc/init.d/wicd start
lalu klik :
menu > internet > wicd netwok manager

setting ip dynamic,
root@bt:~# dhclient
-- interface disini bisa saja eth0 atau eth1

Setting IP static
misalnya :
interface - eth0
IP Address - 172.164.1.9/24
Default Gateway - 172.164.1.1
DNS server - 172.164.1.1
maka perintah yang digunakan adalah :

root@bt:~# ifconfig eth0 171.164.1.9/24
root@bt:~# route add default gw 192.164.1.1
root@bt:~# echo nameserver 172.164.1.1 > /etc/resolv.conf

settingan ini akan kembali default bila di reboot, untuk menjadikan permanen maka kita perlu meng-edit file /etc/network/interfaces,

root@bt:~# nano /etc/network/interfaces

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 172.164.1.9
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 172.164.1.0
broadcast 172.164.1.255
gateway 172.164.1.1

kemudian save dengan menggunakan perintah CTRL+X kemudian jawab y kemudian enter

     Memulai service di BT :

untuk menghentikan service :

untuk menghentikan service :

root@bt:~# /etc/init.d/apache2 stop

untuk memulai bisa menggunakan perintah :
root@bt:~# /etc/init.d/mysql start

atau:
root@bt:~# start mysql

untuk menghentikan :
root@bt:~# /etc/init.d/mysql stop

BackTrack Clean Hard Drive Install

This method of installation is the simplest available. The assumption is that the whole hard drive is going to be used for BackTrack.
  1. Boot BackTrack on the machine to be installed. Once booted, type in “startx” to get to the KDE graphical interface.
  2. Double click the “install.sh” script on the desktop, or run the command “ubiquity” in console.
  3. Select your geographical location and click “forward”.  Same for the Keyboard layout.
  4. The next screen allows you to configure the partitioning layout. The assumption is that we are deleting the whole drive and installing BackTrack on it.
  5. Accept the installation summary and client “Install”. Allow the installation to run and complete. Restart when done.
  6. Log into BackTrack with the default username and password root / toor. Change root password.
  7. Fix the framebuffer splash by typing “fix-splash” ( or “fix-splash800″ if you wish a 800×600 framebuffer), reboot.

Tips: File Compression and Archiving

The following tips deal with the use of tar, gzip, bzip2 and zip

make a tarball of certain types of files
You can make a tarball of only certain types of files from a directory with the following one-liner:
find reports/ -name "*.txt" | xargs tar -zcpf reports.tar.gz


Change the compression type to bzip2 and you'll have a smaller file:
find reports/ -name "*.txt" | xargs tar -jcpf reports.tar.bz2



untar in a different directory
If you've got a gzipped tarball and you want to untar it in a directory other than the one you're in, do the following:
zcat file.tar.gz | ( cd ./otherdir; tar xvf - )


extract individual files from a tarball
If you need a file that you've put into a tarball and you don't want to extract the whole file, you can do the following.
First, get a list of the files and find the one you want
tar -zltf file.tar.gz

Then extract the one you want
tar zxvf file.tar.gz indiv.file



backup everything with tar
To make a backup of everything in a particular directory, first do this
ls -a > backup.all

If you don't really want *everything*, you can also edit backup.all and get rid of things you don't want
To make the tarball, just do this:
tar -cvf newtarfile.tar `cat filelist`

(remember, those are backtics)


incremental backups with tar
An incremental backup is one that includes the new files you've created each day. First you need create a tarball with everything, as we did in the previous example, or just by creating a tarball of the entire directory.
tar cvzf homedir-complete.tar.gz /home/homedir/

Then, you can run the following as a cron job every day. It will add the new files to the homedir-complete.tar.gz tarball
find /home/homedir -mtime -1 -print |  
tar cvzf homedir_complete.tar.gz -T -

(don't forget that dash '-' at the end!)


zip syntax
Most Linux distributions come with zip, the most popular file compression format in the MS Windows world. The command line arguments are not the same as when you're creating a tar.gz, however. To create a zipped file on Linux, do this:
zip -b ./ file.zip *.png

This would create a zipped file of all the *.pngs in that particular directory. Keep in mind:
  • "./" means the directory you're in

  • As you can see, you can use wildcards and extension names



tar and untar over ssh
You can use tar combined with ssh to move files more easily over a local network or even the Internet. In the following example, we will take our 'development' web work and transfer them to the production server.
tar cf - *.png | ssh -l username production_server  
"( cd /home/website/html/images/ ; tar xf - ) "

The process can also be reversed to get remote files here.

ssh -l username production_server

Computer Forensics is a branch of digital forensics to examine digital media with the aim of: identifying, recovering, analyzing and presenting facts and opinions about the information.


Slack space or sometimes referred to as file slack is the area between the end of a file and end of the last cluster or sector used by the file in question. Area is an area that will not be used again to store the information there, so the area is "wasted" useless. Slack space is common in file systems that use a large cluster size, while the file system that uses a small cluster size can organize the storage media more effectively and efficiently. Amount of wasted disk space can be thought is estimated by multiplying the number of files (including the number of directories) with half the size of a cluster. For example, a 10 000 personal computer that stores files in a file system that uses a cluster size of 4 kilobytes will have approximately 10 000 x 2 MB - = 20000 KB. On a large file server, slack space and even reached the size of tens of gigabytes.



Unallocated Space
Unallocated Space is available disk space that is not allocated to any volume. The type of volume that you can create on unallocated space depends on the disk type. On basic disks, you can use unallocated space to create primary or extended partitions. On dynamic disks, you can use unallocated space to create dynamic volumes


1.  dd -command used to copy from an input file or device to an output

 3. grep -search files (or multiple files) for instances of an expression or
pattern.
 4. The loop device -allows you to associate regular files with device

 5. md5sum and sha1sum -create and store an MD5 or SHA hash of a
file or list of files (including devices).
 6. file -reads a file’s header information in an attempt to ascertain its
type, regardless of name or extension.
 7. xxd - command line hexdump tool. For viewing a file in hex mode.

BufferOverFlow easy RM to MP3 converter

this time I will post a buffer overflow that occurs in the application easy RM to mp3 converter
first create a file fuzzer
  

save and download the file generated from the fuzzer through windows in a virtual
start by apache and enter the browser in windows xp




after the file downloaded. galaudewa.ram load files into RM-MP3 converter but way right through OllyDbg

 

see what happens in the memory registers in OllyDbg
after that, write command "pattern_create.rb 27000 > string_create.txt", open file "string_create.txt" and copy to the console
 
load again in RM-MP3 with ollydbg, and will show likes under this
after that input ESP and EIP at pattern_offset, so that we can know how many bytes are needed to reach the stack,  
  


 save and load again file "galaudewa.ram", and will show likes under this, look value of EIP change to DEADBEEF


after that i try to doing writing at ESP, add command likes under this
and the result seen likes under this
  and then i search the JMP ESP with ollydbg, way as shown below
so will show window likes under this, and i choose shell32.dll
right-click and choose "seacrh for  Command"
so  get the JMP ESP address 



and then modify the script again
 
 and load the file again so will transform likes under this
 well find the payload using metasploit, in this season i used windows bind shell, and setting as needed
copy payload in the script made earlier
rebound galaudewa.ram file into RM-MP3 without using OllyDbg
it denotes the application crash, and finally write "telnet <ip_target> <port>"
